Weep Vents

The purpose of installing Weep Vents in cavity walls is to form weep holes that are needed over steel lintels for draining away water that may collect inside an external cavity wall built from either bricks or blocks. Weep Vents are made from injection moulded Polypropylene which is known to maintain dimensional stability and offers resistance to abrasion and chemicals. These are manufactured in a wide range of colours to maintain aesthetic uniformity between the vent and the material used in the mortar and masonry.

Buildworld brings you the Timloc brand of Cavity wall weep or vents. These vents perform the dual function of acting as weep to discharge water along with their intended role of ventilating the cavity wall to reduce moisture content and allowing the cavity to breathe. The vents in our catalogue are manufactured to NHBC Standards 2008 Edition and fulfil the norms outlined in BS EN ISO 9001: 2008. You can trust the quality of the vents with a blindfold and browse through our collection for the most appropriate ones. Call today for the most competitive rates on offer!

More Info on Weep Vents

According to the brick and block layers federation— vertical vents induce the replacement of moist air inside the cavity wall with external air most effectively when installed in the second brick from the top— to maintain the bond between the bricks on the top row.

Water accumulating at the door heads and window heads is efficiently discharged by weep vents placed in the vertical joints between bricks or blocks. Water from cavity trays, lintels, and the damp-proof course is also discharged in a very efficient manner through weep vents. In addition to ensuring effective drainage, weep vents save cavity walls from infestations by bugs and a variety of insects, and protects head joints from debris ingress.
