The purpose of installing Weep Vents into the cavity walls is to form weep holes that are needed over steel lintels for draining away water that may collect inside an external cavity wall built from either bricks or blocks. These vents can be used at the top of the wall to help improve air circulation in the cavity, between bricks and mortar into position.
Weep Vents are made from injection moulded polypropylene, which maintains dimensional stability and offers resistance to abrasion and chemicals—manufactured in a wide range of colours to maintain aesthetic uniformity between the vent and the material used in the mortar and masonry.
Buildworld brings you the Timloc brand of weep vents and related products. These weep holes perform the dual function of acting as weep to discharge water and their intended role of ventilating the cavity wall to prevent dampness and allow the cavity to breathe. The vents in our catalogue are manufactured to NHBC Standards 2008 Edition and fulfil the norms outlined in BS EN ISO 9001: 2008.
