Blackrock

Blackrock was founded in 1926 at Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester under the name of RODO. Initially, the unit manufactured brushes and brooms for different trades that proved immensely popular. By 1940, the company had expanded and was offering decorating accessories. It also increased its portfolio with a line of industrial clothing. By 1980, this line included workwear for construction trades and in 2005, after a liaison with the Chinese industry, the Blackrock brand was born. Today, Blackrock has more than 100 employees with an additional unit on Droysden. Blackrock comes from a company that has established itself over the past century. A self-manufacturer of industrial workwear, the company has a rock-solid experience in making quality safety gear. Its Chinese tie-up has given it an edge over others in terms of speedy and efficient production, besides competitive cost rates. Since 1980, Blackrock has realized the huge demand for construction wear and has been providing a range of purpose-designed outerwear and safety shoes.

This range includes workwear for construction, medical, casual, thermal, as well as protective equipment for commercial and personal use. All Blackrock products are made with premium materials and in compliance with requisite EN certifications.

The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) collection by Blackrock is among the best in its class, made in accordance with the 1992 Work Regulations Act. PPE is stated to be protective clothing and footwear to guard against health and safety risks during work. All Blackrock PPE products are independently tested by regulatory authorities. The range consists of high visibility clothing, hard and soft helmets, eye goggles, gloves, footwear, safety harnesses, and masks, as well as respiratory protective equipment (RPE).

Tips for PPE:

  • Choose equipment that fits you properly and feels comfortable. This way, you are sure to use it regularly.
  • Make sure that multiple products worn together match and fit perfectly.
  • Many PPE products are re-usable. To ensure their shelf life, clean them properly after use and keep in a dry area.
  • Check for products that have the CE certification in compliance with the PPE Regulations Act 2002.

Blackrock Workwear is a collection of protective and casual clothing. Not only is this range durable, but also highly attractive in design. The portfolio includes trousers, shorts, jackets, body warmers and tool vests, and coveralls. There are also Polo shirts and T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, thermals, as well as painter overalls. There are several models to choose from with designs being updated to match latest trends. Materials used are hardwearing fabrics for long-lasting endurance, with small detailing that goes a long way in ensuring maximum comfort and functionality.

The company has an excellent range of safety footwear, which has been certified by the CE EN ISO 20345 for safety and BS EN ISO 20347 for occupational wear. The shoes are available in trendy designs, while there are also models for those who prefer the traditional style. Choose from a wide variety of Wellingtons, safety and non-safety footwear, composite safety footwear and a hygiene selection of shoes.
