Internal door frames are called door linings and are manufactured to span wall thickness so that they are not profoundly recessed into the wall gap. These are usually covered up with architraves for a perfect finish and aesthetic looks. Internal door-frames have an open framework or low sills and are designed to fit flush to the floor. As these are used with interior doors, these are not as sturdy as external frames, as they don't face severe environmental issues and can be assembled and fixed easily.
