  • Advantages :
  • For existing roofs
  • For all common roof surfaces
  • Brush on
  • PREPARATION :
  • Can only be applied to surfaces which are completely dry, and great care must be taken to ensure that when applied to bitumen felt no moisture is contained within the felt.
  • Ensure the roof surface is structurally sound, clean, dry and free from surface contaminants such as grease, oil, rust and dirt.
  • Remove any organic growth i.e. moss or lichen with Bostik Fungicidal Wash.
  • Any blisters in existing felt should be split, allowed to dry, rebonded and sealed. Any cracks, defective upstands or splits must be made good using Bostik Bituminous Mastic for Roofs.
  • If the surface is porous, dusty or friable after cleaning or covered with weathered bitumen, prime with Bostik Penetration Primer for Roofs and allow to dry.
  • To avoid thickening and to assist application in cold weather, store Bostik Brushable Waterproofer for Roofs in a warm room overnight prior to use
  • APPLICATION :
  • Stir well before use.
  • Should be applied with a stiff long handled brush for larger areas or a hand brush for smaller patches. Where possible we recommend using disposable brushes for the application.
  • Brush apply two thin coats at a rate of 1.2 – 1.5m2 per litre at right angles to each other. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before application of the next.
  • If a high build application is required with extra reinforcement, a layer of open-woven glass fibre or an open-mesh polyester membrane should be embedded into the first coat of compound while still wet (ensuring a minimum of 50mm overlaps). This should then be overcoated with two successive coats for Roofs each at the same rate of 1.2 – 1.5m2 per litre allowing thorough drying time between applications.
  • In order to prolong the effective life of the dried coating, overcoat with a suitable solar reflective coating
  • CLEANING :
  • Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with white spirit or paraffin (kerosene).
  • Dried product is difficult to remove.
  • Where possible we recommend using disposable brushes for the application of this product.
