Product Description
Regardless of what type of wood you need to prime for your projects, Dulux Trade Aluminium Wood Primer works magically. This solvent-based product containing aluminium pigment is a sealing and priming agent that is best used before you apply any levelling compound to ensure that it levels out as smoothly as possible. When the primer is applied without dilution on resinous creosoted wood surfaces, it can act as a sealing agent that can be used on all types of softwoods and hardwoods, aged creosoted or bitumen-coated surfaces or as a first coat on timber.

- It is a solvent-based primer containing aluminium pigment
- Suitable for use on all types of softwoods and hardwoods, inside and outside, especially those which are highly resinous
- Can also be used as a sealer for aged creosoted or bitumen coated surfaces or as a first coat on timber, where a two-coat aluminium system is required.

- Suitable for interior and exterior use on softwoods and hardwoods, especially those which are highly resinous.
- Application method : Brush only. Do not use in temperatures below 5 degree C.
- Thinning is not required.
- Drying Times : Single coat at standard thickness (Touch Dry: 3-4 hours), (Recoat: 16-24 hours)
- For Health and Safety reasons related to all solvent-based paints, spray application is not recommended.
- Cleaning Up : After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with brush cleaner.

- SURFACE PREPARATION :
- To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry) and free from all defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease wax etc.
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth.
- Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Trade Polyfilla.
- SYSTEMS INFORMATION :
- STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE.
- After suitable surface preparation apply 1 or 2 coats over highly resinous wood or when using over aged creosote or bitumen coated surfaces.
- Allow up to 24 hours between coats (48 hours on aged creosote or bitumen coated surfaces).
- Finish with an appropriate Dulux Trade paint system.
- Transportation Storage :
- Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
- To prevent spillage, please store and transport upright.
