Solar Reflective Aluminium Paint from Cromar is a reflective coating suitable for bituminous roofing, provides lasting protection against the sun’s UV rays and weathering of roofs. This paint can be used on roofs that are subject to standing in rain water. This bright aluminium, traditional paint is ready to use and should not be diluted. It is additionally utilized for protection where there are corrugated iron surfaces, bituminous, and exposed steel. This helps in preventing softening of asphalt as it does not attack bituminous substrates. Even where conditions turn to rain before the film has cured, once applied it is completely water resistant.

Application:
Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust and debris
Freshly applied bitumen coatings should be allowed to weather for at least 3 - 5 days prior to the application of this product
For use on Roofing Felt we recommend you prime the surface using Bitumen Primer (available separately) prior to applying the first coat

STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE :
Note: The appearance of a silver film on the surface of the paint after a short period of stirring does not signify that the paint is thoroughly uniform. It is advisable to stir for several minutes to ensure complete dispersion. Preference should be given to mechanical stirring
Two coats should be applied, the first being allowed to dry before application of the second
To avoid bronzing it is important that this product is not applied too thickly
Do not brush excessively as this can cause softening of the substrate
The presence of moisture on the surface caused by rain falling before the Aluminium Paint has dried can also cause bronzing
Do not use in temperatures less than + 5 degrees c

Method of Application:
By brush or airless spray
Storage Conditions:
Store away from children.
Containers must be kept sealed and stored under cover away from sources of heat and ignition

Coverage:
Two coats should be applied
Apply the second coat 24 hours after the first coat
The rate of application is between 5 - 10 m/2 per litre per coat depending on the condition of the surface.
5 litres covers between 25 m/2 - 50 m/2 overall so 2 coat coverage = 12.5 m/2 - 25 m/2 depending on surface condition
25 litres covers between 125 m/2 - 250 m/2 overall so 2 coat coverage = 62.5 m/2 - 125 m/2 depending on surface condition

Cleaning Tools:
Clean with White Spirit.
Do not allow water to contaminate the Aluminium Paint
Drying Time:
Up to 72 hours dependent on the ambient temperature
