- APPLICATION METHOD :
- Brush or roller only.
- For Health Safety reasons related to all solvent-based paints, spray application is not recommended.
- SURFACE PREPARATION :
- To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry.
- All surfaces should be thoroughly prepared by vigorous scraping and brushing to remove any loose or flaking paint and dirt.
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- A stiff fibre brush will give better results than a wire brush, as any wire that becomes embedded in the wall will rust, and stain the new paint.
- All mould or organic growth on the masonry must be removed by careful scraping and brushing again using a fibre brush. Avoid the inhalation of dust.
- Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
- The area should be treated with Weathershield Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash
- Minor faults or imperfections in the surface can be made good using an appropriate Polycell filler.
- Larger holes and cracks should be filled with a sand and cement mix.
- Cleaning Up :
- After use, remove as much product as possible from equipment before cleaning with brush cleaner.
- Storage :
- Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
